Lately, Ben's been able to do new things and say new things. First, one of the new things he can do: operate the hose. I have the soaked clothes to prove it.


Also, Ben can dance. He's always been able to, but today we danced to 'Last Night' by the strokes, in our kitchen. Me and Ben. A dance party. I looked like that annoying hippie girl you see at concerts. You roll your eyes at her and make fun of her with your friends. But it's fun being the hippie girl if it means that Ben dances and hops and stomps along with me. Chris, have you seen my Birkenstocks?

We went and hung out with Aunt Jami and Casey today. Ben was crabby when we got there and when we were leaving, but he loved sitting by the pool and splashing his legs. He also played at Casey's water table and attempted to drink the entire contents of it. She was very gracious and accommodating.


The most fun new thing is that Aunt Marcia and Uncle Nik had their baby - a girl! Baby Kristina was born 8/5 and weighed 8 lbs 5 oz. She is the most beautiful newborn I've ever seen. Mom is a warrior and Dad is so incredibly supportive. It's going to be so fun to see them grow as a family.
