back in the swing of things.

We are home!

Ben was discharged from the hospital last week on Thursday evening. Everyone's prayers worked; just when I thought there was absolutely no way that he'd make it through a nap with no de-sat's, he did. We've been laying low at home ever since.

We wouldn't have been able to get through last week without the help of our parents. My dad and stepmom came up and stayed the whole week, helping out around the house and with Ryan, and visiting Ben at the hospital, along with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop, and Grammy. It's all a blur, but we were able to focus on getting Ben home while we had the support of our families.

Ben hasn't felt himself, though. He won't eat much at all, and won't drink much either. I don't know why I'm surprised at that; Ben has never been one to do anything that he doesn't want to. He takes his time and goes at his own pace. And I know he's in a lot of pain.

Before Ben's surgery, we were lucky enough to go with Mom-Mom and Pop-Pop to the Strasburg Railroad to see Thomas the Train. It was a cold, snowy day and Ben had so, so much fun. When we pulled up to the station, Thomas was pulling in...

We had to get a parking spot first, and he was so antsy to get out of the car and see Thomas.

When we finally got on the train, Ben could hardly contain himself. His baby brother even had so much fun watching him.

It was so neat to see him so excited about the trains.

In other news, Ryan got his first tooth. He's been drooly for awhile now and honestly he teethes just like he does everything else: happily. He fusses a bit, but only when he's hungry or tired. I tried to get a picture of his new tooth... it's on the bottom.
