a busy weekend.

This weekend was a busy one for us.

Friday night, my mom and Kevin came down to watch Ben for us while we went to see My Morning Jacket at the Electric Factory. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself when I drove to meet Chris and our friends before the show. It had been so long since I’d been to a concert.

I did manage to fall asleep standing up, for just a minute, during the show. We left before the encore but were able to hear it on the radio as we drove home. Grandmommy and Poppy did a superb job with Ben; he was fast asleep in his crib when we got home at 1am.

Saturday morning we went Christmas tree shopping with the Reifs. A bunch of the family members went together, as we do every year. We walked around with Kelly and Joe and Lizzie and Jackson while we looked for a tree.

Ben is up to 14 pounds! Here he was all bundled up in the baby bjorn, being held by dad. He slept the whole time we were at the tree farm. We were pleasantly surprised at that. Ben did a great job.


It was great to see Uncle Joe and Cousin Jackson.


Lizzie was on her own quest for the perfect tree. She had fun getting her purple boots muddy. When we got home, though, Lizzie was running a fever. We hope she’s feeling better!
